Round the ‘Block: 10/12/10

Ho-Lee-Cow. Fantastic show. Great show. Best show since, well, last week. Colt Murray stopped in, Alex Brewer (as always) jumped on the air and, heck, I even mixed in some quality underground hip hop!

My Five Cents

Colt Murray called and filled us in on the College Football Top 25 and his thoughts on NFL salaries. Alex Brewer spent a few minutes keep me on my toes – and the edge of my seat – while discussing vampires.

Tuesday Night Stew

So Eric Mangini and the Browns are “leaning” toward starting Colt McCoy this week for the Browns.

Great.

Nothing says leader like leaning. Heck, they both start with an “L” right? Forget being decisive, having a stance and giving answers. Give me the guys who lean.

Gray is, after-all, my favorite color.

Coaches can’t always say what they want to the media. We like ESPN likes to twist things. Deadspin can take things out of context. It’s understandable they are afraid of making a decision. But it still needs to be done. That’s why coaches get paid.

The great ones make decisions – from Vince Lombardi to Bill Parcells. They always had an answer even to the dumbest question.

The reason the Man-Genius Is only a Man-Genius as a coordinator, because he doesn’t know how to make a decision. And he doesn’t have the answer. He only has a feeling.
