2010 NFL Popularity Contest WK 8

Due to his busy schedule, The [Five]’s Jurassic has the week off. Although, he still managed to kick out his Top 10… plus one.

Jurassic Paque’s week 8 Popularity Contest: Top 10… plus one.

1. New York Jets – If the Jets get better as the season moves on, they’ll be a juggernaut come week 17.  This week’s match up against the Packers will be a moderate test, especially considering the Jets almost gave away last weeks game against the Broncos.

2. Baltimore Ravens – Really?  The Browns gave you a run for your money?  Are you afraid of this man?

3. New England Patriots – Every year it seems this team is dangerous.  If any other team shipped off their star receiver for a has-been, it would signal a team on the decline.  Not the Patriots.  Apparently Deon Branch is good as new.

4. Atlanta Falcons – Atlanta has a very favorable schedule.  If this team is an improvement from the ‘08 team that made the playoffs, they could be armed for a deep playoff push.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers – Didn’t really win last week.

6. Indianapolis Colts – Just don’t feel like the Texans are gonna sweep the Peytons.

7. New York Football Giants – These guys had the quickest transformation from laughing stocks to dangerous.  After week 3 they looked cooked.  Like a team with no focus or leadership.  Now?  Coughlin’s got his ducks in a row.

8. Green Bay Packers – A psuedo-impressive win over the Vikings on Sunday night.  The Packers have a lot of work to do if they want to attain any sort of dominance.  The injury total is getting grotesque and as most analysts will tell you, to succeed in the NFL you need to be good and lucky.  The Packers haven’t gotten too many breaks this year…

9. New Orleans Saints – Boo.  Looks like Superbowl hangover to me.  I didn’t think they’d fall victim.

10. Tennessee Titans – I’ve got no clue if this team is any good.  And did Kenny Britt seriously do all that in 3 quarters?  Check the Titans receiving box score. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it.  I was actually in an Eagles bar and the folks were not happy.  At all.  They were clamoring for Vick…even though Kolb wasn’t the one losing the game for them.

11. Houston Texans – These guys are in a tough division.  Actually, the toughest division at this point in the season.  They’ll have to keep the pedal to the metal if they wanna be playoff contenders.  They better hope they get Andre Johnson back to 100%.  Like now.
