Welcome!

Welcome!  My name is Mike Lederer and I’m an aspiring broadcaster and graduate student at Syracuse University.  I am a die hard sports fan who dedicates most of my time to studying the game and trying to find out the most up-to-date and accurate information in sports.

I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area and I’m a diehard Philly sports fan.  No… that doesn’t mean I throw snow balls at Santa Claus or batteries at JD Drew (though I was at that game).  Rather, I’m like most fans from Philadelphia that are misunderstood.  We are incredibly passionate and expect full effort all the time.

This past Spring I finished my undergraduate work in the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University.  While I thought I was heading for a career in business, my passion for sports has always been what drives me.  Two years ago, I joined a sports talk radio show called the “Two-Hour Drill” and the past year I served as the play-by-play voice for www.lehighsports.com.

I’m at Syracuse now with the ultimate goal to pursue a career in sports.  Whether it be as a play-by-play voice or a reporter, my love for the game is what pushes me to follow my dream.  I was the kid who asked my parents for a microphone for my 9th birthday so I could announce Philadelphia 76ers games in my room.  And these were the days with Clarence Weatherspoon and a rookie Jerry Stackhouse!  Now you know that’s dedication.

I’ll be writing about everything.  Football, baseball, basketball, hockey.  Professional and college sports.  With the NFL season just around the corner and baseball heading into the September stretch run, we are sure to get off to a great start!
