New computer – which OS to choose?

Built a new computer last week. Wicked fast. AMD Quad-core, gigabit motherboard with dual display even one is HDMI), HDTV card, wireless internet, DVD w/  Lightscribe – I’m pretty satisfied. I know a lot of the Intel freaks will probably point a million places as to why Intel is better than AMD but I’m loyal to the first brand processor I used and it was about 70 bucks cheaper.

What can I say, I’m broke. It’s not like this website is bringing in the dough.

After the fiasco with SuSE 10.0 I almost said bye-bye to Linux completely but I’ve installed Fedora 9.0 Linux or Linux Fedora 9.0 which ever you prefer because it’s a solid little OS (and it’s free). I’ve thought about switching to Debian and after bouncing around the web I am thinking of changing to something a little more “fun.” and by “fun” I mean adventurous. And by that I mean Linux Tiger or Mandriva (sp?). I might even try Musix.

I heard about these through word of mouth, checked them out on-line and they sound interesting. I know this is a sports website but Oregon State’s logo is OS now and this is a post regarding an OS – just a different kind. I’d like your input. I know that Linux fans roll through the “internets” with great hastenand I’m sure a few of you that have made your way to this post have some insight.

I’m all ears.
