NFL seeding flip flop

The NFL might be looking to change the playoff seeding. The new proposal was brought up by Atlanta Falcons vice president Rick McKay, co-chairman of the NFL’s competitive committee said.

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that McKay proposes that, “Each of the four division winners in each conference would earn postseason berths, but only the two division winners in each conference with the best records would get automatic home games. The division winners with the lower two records, plus the two wild-card teams, would compete for seeds three through six based on record.”

This would push for more late-season games that matter instead of the last season game when Tennessee played Indianapolis game when the Colts didn’t start the normal starters because they were already “in.” The Titans ended up winning and eliminated the lte surging Cleveland Browns from The playoffs. The goal would be to “motivate coaches to have more games that matter,” McKay told the Cincinnati Enquirer.
