Flyers’ Chris Pronger out for Game 3

Philadelphia Flyers’ star defenseman Chris Pronger will not play in Game 3 of the Flyers 2nd round series against the Boston Bruins.

Pronger is out of the lineup with what is being described as a “lower-body injury.” He did not take part in the team’s morning skate and is officially listed as day-to-day by general manager Paul Holmgren.

The 36-year old defenseman has battled injuries throughout the 2010-2011 season. He returned to the lineup in Game 6 of the Flyers first round series against the Buffalo Sabres after being sidelined since March 8 due to a broken right hand.

After playing Games 6 and 7 against the Sabres, and Game 1 against the Bruins, Pronger missed Game 2 of the series due to injury.

The Flyers will miss Pronger’s presence as they travel to Boston in a two-games-to-none hole.
