We’ve got our next date to circle on the NFL labor calendar.
The preliminary injunction hearing to possibly lift the NFL lockout is scheduled for April 6 before Judge Susan Nelson. As Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal notes, that means Judge David Doty will not preside over the case.
At the same time, Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Senior House Democrat, said he will seek to eliminate the NFL’s antitrust exemption for broadcasting contracts.
The exemption allows the NFL to sign TV contracts on behalf of every team and is why, according to experts, the league is so prosporous.
