The Charlotte Bobcats are on the verge of trading forward Gerald Wallace to the Portland Trailblazers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers had thought to have been the frontrunners to land Wallace with their $14.6 million trade exemption acquired when they lost LeBron James via free agency to the Miami Heat last summer. However the Trailblazers have aggressively been looking to make a deal before the deadline and look to have acquired Wallace’s services.
There are conflicting reports as to what Portland is sending back to Charlotte.
One report has the Blazers sending point guard Andre Miller and center Marcus Camby to the Bobcats. Another has the Blazers trading Joel Przybilla, draft choices, and cash considerations.
The trade may also expand into a multi-team deal.
