While the NBA is still locked out, Deron Williams is locked in. Williams debuted in the Euroleague and dropped 11 points and had five assists and helped Besiktas beat Bandirma Kirmizi 107-69.
The former New Jersey Nets guard is one of a handful of players from the NBA that has jumped across the pond to play with Euroleague clubs until the end of the lockout.
The other lockout-related signing, Cleveland Cavaliers’ Turkish forward Semih Erden, scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Besiktas open the season with an emphatic win.
Marcelus Kemp led Besiktas with 27 points while David Hawkins added 22 points and four assists.
The first two weeks of the NBA season have already been canceled.
