Reports are swelling out of Camp Randall about backup quarterback Jon Budmayr’s elbow. It’s big news. The quarterback will be out indefinitely while the team tried to uncover the reson behind his swollen elbow.
That means Joe Brennan is now behind transfer Russell Wilson on the depth chart for the Badgers’ season opener, Sept. 1, against UNLV.
Budmayr saw two specialists last week. The training staff originally hypothesized there was a pinched nerve in his elbow causing the swelling and some numbness in his throwing hand.
The sophomore started camp as the No. 1 quarterback, but was sidelined by the elbow issue back on Aug. 9 adn hasn’t seen much action since.
