Duquesne coach Ron Everhart withdrew his name from the list of candidates for the Penn State basketball head coaching job.
Everhart is currently riding the post season train at Duquesne – he’s made it there the past three seasons and has posted a winning record the past four seasons. His 83-74 record has earned him a solid reputation with the mid-major.
He interviewed with Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley on Tuesday and apparently did not like what he heard. Then again, he still has three years remaining on his $400,000 per year contract.
The Nittany Lions are most likely still in talks with UW-Milwaukee’s Rob Jeter and Boston University’s Pat Chambers.
Last season the team finished 19-15 and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
