One of the most dominant teams in recent memory, the UConn women’s basketball team, met with the President Wednesday. The team made the trip to the White House and got a “high-five” from the president by way of a speech.
UConn, recall, was crown the 2013 NCAA Champions.
But the President focused on what the women meant as role models.
“As the father of two young, beautiful, athletic and tall daughters, it just always puts a smile on my face whenever I see such class acts represent their country and their school so well,” President Obama said.
For some women on the team this wasn’t their first trip. The Huskies won the National Championship in 2009 and 2010.
