Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has good reason to hold sour feelings toward the Cleveland Cavaliers. Friday night’s 97-92 victory had to feel good for Brown, who was fired by the team in 2010.
But he isn’t talking about it. Instead, after the game, he focused more on Kobe Bryant.
“We have to make sure we keep executing offensively so we don’t need to rely on (Bryant) so much,” Brown told reporters. “It’s good to have a guy like Kobe Bryant in your pocket.”
Bryant topped the 40-point mark for the third-consecutive game – despite only scoring seven points in the final quarter. He finished with 42 points in 40 minutes.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Bryant has had back-to-back-to-back 40-point outings. In March 2007, he had five-consecutive games with more than 40 points.
Bryant, and the Lakers, have been on a tear to start the season. The win over the Cavaliers was the eighth-consecutive home victory this season.
