Another great game between Arizona and Arizona State.
Arizona backup quarterback, Bryson Beirne, hit Juron Criner on a 23-yard touchdown with only 5:18 remaining in the game to top Arizona State, 31-27 and Arizona took the Territorial Cup Saturday night.
While Arizona (3-8, 2-8) isn’t bowl eligible, at least they can feel good about ending the season with a win against the in-state rival. Meanwhile, Arizona State (6-5, 4-4) is still bowl eligible and has one game left in Pac-12 play – California.
Arizona battled back from a four-point deficit at halftime. The Wildcats rallied in the fourth quarter, scoring two touchdowns – one by starting quarterback Nick Foles, the other by backup Beirne.
Arizona State came up just short in the fourth. Arizona State’s Brock Osweiler – who finished completing 36-for-65 with 487 yards passing and one touchdown – tossed two incomplete passes to end the game on the Arizona 15-yard line.
When Foles left he had completed 35-for-51 for 370 yards and two touchdowns.
