After tweeting back and forth with former The [Five] Daily contributor and Fox 40 sports reporter, Jon Wiener, I took a gander at the No. 25 Mississippi State running backs. I seem to recall Wiener – or someone else – tweeting about how well they’ve been doing this season.
Boy, was I in for a shocker. Mississippi State has rushed for 642 yards this season and are ranked as the nations No. 6 rushing attack.
Not a surprise seeing as the Bulldogs hail from the SEC.
The other non-surprise in the SEC is solid defense. The No. 3 LSU Tigers defense which has only given up just over 90 yards on the ground through the first two games.
And, wouldn’t you know it, They are matched up in Week 3 of the college football season. To say I’m looking forward to this game would be an understatement, should be a real test for both squads.
Although, wouldn’t it be interesting if the Bulldogs “opened it up” and threw the ball. Never know, the vaunted SEC running attack might take its 27th-ranked passing attack and turn into the Greatest Show on Turf.
Yeah… right.
