Detroit Lions defensive end Ndamukong Suh’ “Welcome to the NFL Rookie” hit on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton didn’t go over very well in the NFL league office.
Suh was fined $20,000 by the NFL for the hit. To which, Suh responded on his Twitter account: “$20,000REALLY???!!!”
The hit in question:
As shown in the video, Suh grabbed Dalton, removed his helmet (perhaps not on purposed), and threw him to the turf after Dalton had gotten rid of the ball.
The play happened late in the first quarter of last Friday’s preseason game. Suh was flagged for unnecessary roughness.
Suh, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year last year, was fined twice last year for roughing up quarterbacks, including Chicago’s Jay Cutler during the regular season and Cleveland’s Jake Delhomme in a preseason game.
