With the second pick in the 2011 NBA Draft the Minnesota Timberwolves selected forward Derrick Williams from the University of Arizona.
The 20-year old sophomore was a standout this past season as the Pac-10 player of the year leading the Arizona Wildcats deep into the NCAA tournament.
The 6’9” 248 pound Williams averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this past season including 13 double doubles.
Williams projects as either a small forward or power forward at the NBA level.
