The investigation into former Oklahoma Sooner Keith Gallon might be coming to an end. Oklahoma Athletic Director, Joe Castiglione, believes the Sooners are getting closer to finishing the investigation into its men’s basketball program.
The NCAA is investigating a scenario surrounding Gallon accepting $3,000 from a Florida financial adviser so Gallon’s high school would release his transcripts and he could play for the Sooners.
The university has been tightlipped about the investigation for the past year. The investigation started shortly after an April 2010 when the school acknowledged it was working with the NCAA but refuse release any records pertaining to the investigation, instead withholding them until the process is finished.
Castiglione gave Sooner fans good news Wednesday. He announced – after a board of regents meeting – that there are “signs that we’re moving toward resolution” and there “probably will” be developments he can comment on soon.
A comment that some fans wish came sooner rather than later.
