The BCS oversight committee handed down it’s decision that the Fiesta Bowl will be allowed to remain part of the Bowl Championship Series.
The only caveat, the Fiesta Bowl must pay a $1 million fine for apparent illegal campaign contributions and inappropriate spending. Also, the Fiesta Bowl must take steps to strengthen supervision of the bowl so the same problems are not repeated.
The final decision came Wednesday.
The BCS said it was “deeply troubled” by the Fiesta Bowl.
