NCAA places Moratorium on new bowl games

The NCAA is meeting to review the licenses of existing bowls. And after expanding the postseason to 35 bowl games, the NCAA has placed a three-year moratorium on new bowls.

The NCAA also created a task force – led by Harvey Perlman, Nebraska Chancellor – to look at the criteria for licensing bowl games.

The NCAA is still deciding on another person, outside the higher education and athletics, to add to the task force. The two will oversee governance and oversight by bowl sponsoring agencies, conflict-of-interest rules and policies, advertising and title-sponsorship standards, along with oversight and reporting of financial management of bowl games.
