ESPN might be preparing for an NFL-free start to the fall. The four-letter network has moved the season-opening game between TCU and Baylor up a day for a national television broadcast.
ESPN will now air the game on Friday night, Sept. 2.
The die-hard college football fans are already prepared. And the critics are getting prepared, too. TCU was 13-0 last season, including a win at the Rose Bowl and a No. 2 finish in the AP Top 25 poll. Going into their final season in the Mountain West Conference, the Horned Frogs have 25 consecutive regular-season wins and 39 in 42 games overall.
Baylor was 7-6 last season and played in the Texas Bowl, their first bowl game since 1994.
