NHL playoffs the most competitive playoffs in all professional sports. Just by sheer competitiveness, NHL wins.

The girl is an idiot she says that people don’t know NHL players because they didn’t play in college. I live in Minnesota and there’s about 40 names I know because their from Minnesota and about 20 of them played for the gophers. Vanek, leipold, Martin, parise, mcdonagh, stepan, byfuglien, sauer, hendricks, cullen. Maybe I’m just biased though seeing that 18,000 people attend the state highschool hockey tournament games compared to maybe 5,000 people at any timmberwolve game. NBA fans it’s time to move on to bigger, better things and it doesn’t even have to be hockey, just not basketball.

This is why hockey won’t ever top the NBA or NFL.
1) low scoring games ( i.e. even 5-5 tie means only 10 goals in a game. If I want to watch a low scoring game, I’ll join the rest of the world and watch soccer)
2) the hitting (granted a few hits are very, very good, there is more hitting in football. Hence if I want to watch guys hit each other the NFL wins out here)
3) No cheerleaders (and don’t even bring up the ice girls, not the same)
The NHL is a “hand me down”, second tier game compared to NBA and NFL. It doesn’t have any strengths (hitting, scoring, cheerleaders, etc) that unbeatable by the other sports. Hence, will never be the top. NFL has the hitting. NBA has high scoring. Soccer has low scoring, and its cheap to play so the whole world can play. NHL is just the middle of all these.

At least in hockey it dosen’t take an hour to play 5 mins, nba and nfl have way too many time outs. Plus hockey hits are much better than football, its the fastest game hands down and low scoring makes it more intense.
