O.State Baller, yes he’s ballin…
Darwin Barney made the opening day roster for the Chicago Cubs.
“He’s played himself into significant time and, it’s Spring Training,” Cubs manager Mike Quade told mlb.com. “[Barney] is making progress. He does a lot of things outside of the batter’s box that you really like. He’s given himself every chance to be an important part of this infield. Now we’ll go north and see what happens in April.”
Barney hit a two-run triple and singled in the 8-7 win over the Chicago White Sox Thursday.
Just like old times, the rookie second baseman also turned a pair of double plays.
