Hey Casey, it looks like your top ten is really starting to settle down. you think there is any chance Cal and Stanford will be in there at the end of the season?

I mean, if three Pac-10 team are in the top ten, wouldn’t that help the Bevaers chances of getting into a Regional

The top 25 is FINALLY settling down! The top five got a bit of a shake up just in order of who was ranked higher. North Carolina took a series from Miami so they were unanimous at No. 1. I felt and agreed with other publications in keeping Miami at No. 2. I think my push of ASU moved the flip flop to No. 3 and FSU to No. 4.

Now for pressing matters, the Beavers. Last I saw they had dropped to 18 in the RPI and I don’t know what the USC sweep did to that. In my personal opinion they may have to be perfect for the next four. If any team in the past has shown it can be perfect at this point in the season it is OSU, problem is those were different squads.

Tonights Long Beach State game may be one that they theoretically could drop and not hurt too bad, but they must sweep Pacific. Pacific is 13-38 overall with a RPI just outside the top 100. The Tigers are in last place in the Big West at 5-19, with two of those wins against Northridge (7-14). The two teams have many common opponents, Santa Clara, Washington, BYU, Gonzaga, Nevada, Stanford, California and Long Beach State (Pacific plays one more vs. Santa Clara, OSU v. Long Beach State). Below are the records against each team, OSU’s bold.

Santa Clara: 1-0 0-2

Washington: 2-1 1-2

BYU: 2-0 0-2

Gonzaga: 0-2 0-3

Nevada: 1-1 1-1

Stanford: 1-2 1-3

Cal: 1-2 0-1

Long Beach State: 0-3
