The SPC is discussing the threat for severe weather this afternoon. The possibility of large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be realized across parts of Arkansas, Missouri and other sections of the southern plains, southeast and Midwest.

Seeing as a healthy section of Texas is under the gun for some winter weather, it seemed like a good time to put things into perspective.
The forecast might be calling for between 3″ to 5″ of snow in some places and up to 1/2″ of ice in others, but at least it isn’t this:
