Philadelphia Phillies minor league middle infielder Keven Frandsen has been suspended 50 games for violating the minor league drug program.
It was revealed on Wednesday afternoon that Frandsen tested positive for Ritalinic Acid.
Ritanlin is used to treat attention deficit hyperactive disorder. Frandsen reportedly did not have a valid doctor’s prescription for the medication.
Frandsen signed a minor league contract with the Phillies back on April 1 after being released by the San Diego Padres at the end of Spring Training.
The five year MLB veteran has a .243 career average with seven homers and 53 RBIs.
Frandsen is batting .321 this season with the AAA Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.
