Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum apologized on Tuesday for his flagrant foul on Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea near the conclusion of the team’s game four matchup in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.
“My actions don’t represent me, my upbringing or the Lakers,” Bynum said in a news conference wrapping up the season. “More importantly I apologize to J.J. Barea for doing that. Glad he wasn’t injured.”

With the Lakers down by 32 points and 8:21 remaining in the game Bynum received a flagrant 2 foul and was ejected after elbowing Barea as he drove to the basket.
Bynum is expected to receive a suspension for the beginning of the 2011-2012 season.
Barea and the Mavericks move on to the Western Conference Finals to take on the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis Grizzlies series.
