The Pac-10 has agreed to a 12-year television contract with Fox and ESPN. The league will officially become the Pac-12 on July 1.
The contract is rumored to top $225 million per year and was first reported by Sports Business Daily. It makes the Pac-12 look very good as the previous “richest” deal for a conference is the $220 million a year that the Big Ten currently earns.
The Pac-10 was rumored to be in discussions about starting their own network as recently as March. Instead the conference chooses to ink a deal that will show football and men’s basketball games will be on channels owned by Fox or ESPN.
