Kargola dies mid-race

Motocross rider Jeff Kargola died in after crashing during the Rip to the Tip event that takes riders the length of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

Detials of the accident weren’t available but Kargola’s team, Metal Mulisha, said he died Friday in San Felipe, Mexico.

Kargola, from San Clemente, Calif., known as “Ox,” was one of 38 riders in the eight-day, 1,408-mile race to Cabo San Lucas.
