It didn’t take long for Hornets coach, Monty Williams, to start buzzing. He told reporters he plans to put in a call to NBA headquarters about the officiating.
He said game officials were allowing the Lakers’ an extended stay in the key and gave them a lot of leeway with aggressive bumps.
Williams said he spoke to NBA Vice President Stu Jackson about Laker center Andrew Bynum’s contact with Emeka Okafor in Game 3. He claims league officials were “gracious” and agreed with some of his criticism.
He isn’t blaming the referees completely. He said the Hornets lost games 2 and 3 of the first-round series because of turnovers and poor rebounding.
