Butler guard Shelvin Mack said in a statement through the school that he will enter the NBA draft but will not hire an agent.
Mack, a junior, plans to “explore” opportunities at the next level. He decided to not hire an agent – most likely with the idea he’ll return if the “next level” isn’t looking promising.
He is the second Butler player in as many years to declare early for the draft. Utah took Gordon Hayward with the ninth overall pick last season.
Mack is slated to be a late first round pick.
He was the Bulldogs’ second-leading scorer last season. He was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Southeast Regional and led Butler in assists and was third in rebounds during the tournament.
And he’s played in the last two national championship games.
