Sources: Archie Miller, Dayton’s next coach

They Fly high no lie, you know this.. Daaayyttoonn!

Okay, so it doesn’t quite have the same ring as the Jim Jones anthem, but give me credit, I’m trying.

The Flyers though, might have a new pilot of their basketball team.

The Associated Press is reporting this morning that “a person familiar with the decision” says the University of Dayton has hired Archie Miller.

News about the hire started trickling out late Saturday night. Now, two or three sources are reporting the story as a matter of when, and not if.

On a late Sunday morning, as imagined, the Dayton Sports Information Director wasn’t available for comment.

Arizona coach Sean Miller’s brother is “expected to be introduced” at a news conference Sunday or Monday.

Per the AP report:

Archie Miller was an assistant at North Carolina State for three years and at Arizona State for two. He was Thad Matta’s assistant at Ohio State for two years, before moving to join his brother at Arizona as associate head coach the last two seasons.

Miller would replace Brian Gregory, who left for Georgia Tech on Monday.
