Just heard the news of Bob Knight’s resignation. Apparently the head coaching duties at Texas Tech will be transferred to the legendary coach’s son, Pat. With Oregon State in need of a big-time basketball coach, this news should no doubt light up the blogs and message boards with endless speculation. The concept is interesting–but would require A.D. magician extraordinaire Bob De Carolis pulling a very large Rabbit from a not-so-big hat.
My gut tells me it’s the sunset for Knight, who at 71 recently surpassed his 900th victory as a coach. Go ahead… speculate.
