Gerald Wallace has finally been traded to Portland Trailblazers.
Portland will send Joel Przybilla, Dante Cunningham and two 1st round picks to the Charlotte Bobcats for Gerald Wallace.
The move is largely viewed as a landslide victory for the Blazers, who acquired a high-level, impact player for an aging veteran who is contemplating retirement and two draft picks likely to be in the mid-to-late part of the first round.
Meanwhile the move signals yet another rebuilding effort for the Bobcats. Wallace was the last original member of the Charlotte organization.
Last season, Wallace was an All-Star and first-team All-Defensive team member. This season he is averaging 15.6 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Przybilla, 31, is in the final year of his contract and is coming off two major knee surgeries on his right knee after rupturing his patella tendon in December of last season. During his rehabilitation, Przybilla slipped in the shower and re-reputured the same tendon in March.
He played in 31 games this season, averaging 1.8 points and 3.9 rebounds. He left with 607 blocks in Portland, fifth best in franchise history.
