The Sacramento Kings have traded power forward Carl Landry to New Orleans Hornets for Marcus Thornton and cash considerations.
After initial speculation, Hornets center David Andersen was NOT included in the deal.
Landry was held out of the Kings game Tuesday night against the Miami Heat and traded to New Orleans shortly after the Kings 117-97 loss.
The 4-year veteran out of Purdue is averaging 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 53 games this season. He has averaged 12.1 points and 5.2 rebounds for his career including his best season in 2009 when he average 16.8 points and 5.9 rebounds in 80 games with the Houston Rockets and Kings.
Thornton was a second round pick in the 2009 NBA draft and enjoyed a strong rookie season with the Hornets in which he averaged 14.5 points per game. However he is averaging just 7.8 points in 46 games this year.
The deal will be made official by the NBA office on Wednesday morning.
