Washington Redskins punt returner Brandon Banks is in stable condition with superficial knife wounds after an argument turned into a double stabbing early Saturday morning at a Washington D.C. club.
Two men were injured in the stabbing. While Banks has since been released from the hospital, another unidentified man is in critical condition.
Police said an argument occurred at about 3 a.m. Saturday at the D.C. club “The Park”, located at 920 14th Street in the Northwest. After the fight escalated, a suspect, who is now in custody, attacked both Banks and his companion with a knife, police said.
The 5-foot-7, 151-pound Banks averaged 25.1 yards per kick return and 11.3 yards per punt return in his first season out of Kansas State. He also had a kickoff returned for a touchdown.
