The Philadelphia Eagles continue their complete overhaul on the defensive side of the ball as they announced on Tuesday afternoon that Linebackers coach Bill Shuey will not be brought back for the 2011 season.
Shuey marks the fourth defensive coach to leave the Eagles organization over the past two weeks. Former defensive coordinator Sean McDermott and defensive line coach Rory Segrest were both fired and defensive backs coach Dick Jauron accepted a position as the new defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns.
With Shuey’s departure the Eagles now have only three defensive coaches on staff — recently-hired defensive line coach Jim Washburn, assistant linebackers coach Mike Caldwell and defensive quality control coach Mike Zordich.
Shuey had just finished his 10th season with the Eagles including the last three in charge of linebacking corps.
