So, it’s been just over a month since I began Google Analytics. So far, I’m pretty impressed. It’s a sweet service and offers a wealth of information about the visitors to The [Five].
Best of all it’s free. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I know Google is some how using the information it tracks for me, for themselves. But, I’m still happy. The biggest hurdle I’ve had to overcome is what to do with all of this information.
I’ve got stats on stats. I know how many people check the site daily (roughly 50 of you). I know which state has the most repeat viewers (Thank you to all my friends in Oregon). And I even know how many of you are repeat visitors (about 60%) and how often you repeat (every other day, mostly).
That is, except The Dakotas. Wait no, different ones… like, the states. No one comes to The [Five] from North Dakota. No one visits The [Five] in South Dakota.
Not one single person. In a month.
Okay, so The [Five] may not cater to “Dakota” sports, really. Roger Maris (Fargo, ND) isn’t a topic of conversation very often. Phil Jackson (Williston, ND) only gets mentioned when the Lakers win. Heck, Josh Heupel (Aberdeen, SD) hasn’t been relevant since 2001.
But, The [Five] still cares about you Dakotas.
So, in light of the recent discovery that every state in the union isn’t a fan of The [Five], I’ve decided something (I love being the boss). During the coming weeks, The [Five] will showcase at least one athlete or event, at least once per week, from every state in the USA.
Because I want your love Dakotas.
