The Beavers rotation for the Vault: Brooke Barclay, Jen Kesler, Yuki Lamb, Jami Lanz, Tasha Smith and Mandi Rodriguez.
The Beavers did well in their first event here at the Pac-10 Gymnastics Championships. Jen Kessler, the standout freshman, in her first Pac-10 Championships vaulted to a 9.725. But the heavy hitters for the Beavers came out to play. Both Smith and Rodriguez posted scores higher than 9.85.
The Beavers final score was a 49.075 and have the early lead. I spoke with "Bigs" after the rotation and she assured me the team would get better. She said the scoring was a little tighter because its earlier in the competition and they would be back on the Bars and do "much better."
The scores went as follows:
Brooke: 9.725
Jen: 9.725
Yuki: 9.85
Jami: 9.75
Smith: 9.9
Rodriguez: 9.85
Now, its onto the Bars for the Beavers!
