MLB Commish, Selig, receives extension

MLB Commissioner Bud Selig receiving a contract extension might have been the most predictable move in the history of the sport – but it is technichally still news that the Commish will be the running the MLB through 2014.

The Major League Baseball owners inked him for another two years.

At the end of his contrat, he will have been the commissioner for 22 years – only two years short of the longest-tuenured Baseball commissioner, Mountain Landis. The most amazing part might be that Selig is almost 80! More proof that you can’t age at a ballpark. He’ll turn the big 8-0 in July of the same year his new contract is set to expire.

Selig told reporters he was “very humbled by” the owners request.
