Giants minor leaguer tests positive, suspended

Even during the “offseason,” San Francisco Giants catcher Drew Stiner has been suspended for 50 games, according to the Associated Press.

Stiner tested positive for amphetamine and was punished under the Minor League Drug Program.

According to the MLB, there were 71 suspensions in 2011. This is already the second one of 2012. Last week, Washington left-hander Zechry Zinicola was also suspended for 50 games.
