Knicks trade for Chandler, send Turiaf to Wizards

One trade that wasn’t vetoed, the New York Knicks traded for Tyson Chandler from the Dallas Mavericks while sending Ronny Turiaf to the Washington Wizards.

The three-team trade as announced on Saturday.

The Knicks also waived Chauncey Billups and designated him as their amnesty player. It will save the Knicks roughly $14.2 million.

Meanwhile Chandler will be able to help the Knicks remain relevant. Last season Chandler helped the Mavericks win the NBA championship – averaging 10.1 points and 9.4 rebounds.
