San Diego Chargers signing everything that wears a helmet

Apparently the San Diego Chargers are the only team that is making moves. Or at least they are the only team making headlines.

Tuesday afternoon/evening the Chargers agreed to terms with three free agents. Linebacker Takeo Spikes, tackle Jeromey Clary and tight end Randy McMichael are now singing the “Super Chargers” song.

“All four players are veterans and have performed at an extremely high level,” Chargers coach Norv Turner said. “Obviously Jeromey has put a lot of work in with us to get to where he is and we’re excited to have him back. The continuity of keeping the offensive line together is big. I think defensively you want to be as strong as you can be down the middle and with Spikes and then [Bob] Sanders, you’ve got two strong personalities that bring a real aggressive presence to the defense.”

Spikes’ deal is for three years, Clary’s is for four years and McMichael got a one-year deal.

But that’s not the only moves the team has mead, The [Five] Daily reported on the Chargers signing undrafted free agent Scott Tolzien. Also, the Chargers agreed to terms with Bob Sanders on a one-year contract.

The players’ contracts are expected to be signed on Friday.
