Texans’ Foster had breakout season in 2010 with torn meniscus

Most players call it a season when they tear something in their knee. Houston Texans Arian Foster called it a season, too. A career-best season.

Foster captured the NFL rushing crown last season despite a torn meniscus in his knee, according to the Sporting News. He ran for 1,616 yards and 16 touchdowns with cartilage damage and a torn meniscus.

He had arthroscopic knee surgery after the season.

“My responsibility and my job is to make sure the people in the front office don’t replace me, because every single day they’re looking to replace me,” Foster told NFL Network. “And so I have to make sure I block with the best, run with the best and catch with the best. That’s my job.”

The Texans – once the season begins – will try to turn things round on the shoulders of Foster and he’s determined to go one step further for his team on a healthy knee.

The Texans finished the 2010 at 6-10. They chose keep Head Coach Gary Kubiak.
