The future of athletics in America is looking bright. Tuesday, two of the best athletes in America were crowned. Dylan Bundy, a pitcher from Oklahoma and Morgan Brian a soccer player in Georgia were honored as the national prep athletes of the year.
The award is sponsored by Gatorade.
Bundy isn’t a stranger to national attention, he was selected fourth overall by the Baltimore Orioles the MLB Draft this past June. He is the first baseball player to win the award in nine years.
Bundy was 11-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 158 strikeouts in 71 innings for Owasso High, according to The Associated Press.
Brian was the first soccer player to win the award. She scored 71 goals with 30 assists for Frederica Academy in St. Simons, Ga. Her team went 17-2-1 record and won its fourth-consecutive Georgia Independent School Association Class AA state title.
Brian has signed with Virginia.
