The Jets have officially returned to Winnipeg.
Hockey fans in Winnipeg have been waiting for a team for the past 15 years and they now finally know what their new team will be called.
Winnipeg announced they will be called the “Winnipeg Jets”. The official announcement came right before their 7th selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The Atlanta Trashers moved to Winnipeg last month.
Winnipeg has been without NHL hockey since the original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996.
