Torii Hunter leaves game, now “day-to-day”

Torii Hunter is a freight train with a mitt. He left the Los Angeles Angels’ game at Florida after making a running catch into the right-field wall.

Hard. Really, really hard. The fourt-time All-Star hit the wall while tracking down a Gaby Sanchez fly ball in the fifth inning.

X-rays were negative, and Hunter’s status is day to day.

He hit the wall with his left shoulder, then hit the ground with same shoulder.

After the initial shock, he fell to the ground – on the warning track – wincing in pain. By the time teammates arrived he was laying flat. He was then taken off the field by trainers.
