Jose Reyes isn’t planning on having any discussion witht he New York Mets about his contract anytime soon. He told the Mets he’s not interested in negotiating a new contract during the season.
This surfaced after Mets General Manager, Sandy Alderson, tried to spark conversations with Reyes’ agent, Peter Greenberg.
Reyes is set to become a free agent after the World Series.
But it’s not an “all about me” moment for Reyes. He just doesn’t want any off-the-field distractions right now.
Reyes, the NL batting leader, met with his representatives at home Monday and they informed the Mets they would rather wait until after the season to talk about a new contract.
