St. Louis Cardinals 1st baseman Albert Pujols will undergo an MRI and x-ray on Monday to determine the severity of his injured left arm.
Pujols sprained his left wrist and injured his shoulder attempting to make a tag at first base in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Royals.
The severity of his injuries will be determined based on the results of the tests taking place today.
“I know I’m pretty sore.,” Pujols told reporters after the Cardinals win on Sunday. “Am I worried? Of course. Hopefully, everything will come out negative tomorrow (Monday). When I come out of a game, believe me, something is really wrong. Hopefully, cross our fingers and I’ll be all right.”
Pujols is hitting .279 with 17 home runs on the season.
