NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed reports that the NFL is investigating about 25 players and their ties to a casino.
The NFL announced the investigation Friday, one day after Yahoo! Sports reported that wide receivers Terrell Owens, Santonio Holmes, Santana Moss and other players had invested about $20 million into Country Crossing casino.
Keep in mind, Country Crossing owner Ronnie Gilley pleaded guilty to offering legislators millions in bribes.
NFL rules do not permit employees (players or otherwise) to involve themselves with gambling operations. Players violating that rule could be subject to fines or suspensions and have to give up their investment.
